Moms, do you shiver when your daughters constantly take selflies.

Do they mock you when you take one of yourself?

Been there, done that!

This video from DOVE might change the way you view your daughter’s obsession with selflies. Or it may not. You decide.

It’s worth a peek. If anything, it may make you think about how your body image and expectations for beauty might influence hers.

Not everyone grows up in the same story. Some chi Not everyone grows up in the same story.

Some childhoods are steady and safe.Others are shaped by chaos, loss, or instability. And those early experiences can quietly shape how a person sees themselves and the world.

So before we judge someone’s reactions, habits, or struggles, it helps to remember: we rarely know the full story.

Respect costs nothing. Compassion changes everything.

Healing begins when we replace judgment with understanding.

Sometimes what looks like perfectionism is actuall Sometimes what looks like perfectionism is actually a survival strategy.

Learning to soften that pattern is the work of becoming a Peaceful Perfectionist.

This reflection comes from my book The Perfectionist’s Dilemma, where I explore the hidden roots of perfectionism and how to move from pressure to presence.

On International Women’s Day, the theme reminds us On International Women’s Day, the theme reminds us: Give to Gain.

But what if one of the most powerful things women can give…
is permission to let go of perfection?

To give ourselves compassion.
To give ourselves rest.
To give ourselves the freedom to be human.

Because when we give ourselves these things, we gain something far more valuable:
presence, authenticity, and enoughness.

This is the heart of my work in The Perfectionist Dilemma and my Substack, The Peaceful Perfectionist.

Here’s to women who are learning that they don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. 💛

In this week’s Peaceful Perfectionist reflection, I share a simple visualization I sometimes call wearing your spiritual space suit — an imaginative practice for cultivating strong, flexible boundaries.

A luminous field that allows warmth and connection to enter while helping the rest pass by.

If you tend to feel everything deeply, this practice might resonate.
